About The Role

Alteris Consulting is seeking a highly experienced SAP Functional Data Migration Lead to drive the end-to-end data migration workstream for SAP transformation initiatives, including ECC to SAP S/4HANA implementations, carve-outs, and system conversions.

This role requires deep expertise in SAP data migration strategy, data quality governance, and large-scale enterprise data transformation programs. You will be responsible for defining the migration approach, coordinating functional and technical teams, and ensuring the successful migration of business-critical data across multiple SAP modules.

You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, functional leads, and technical architects to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance throughout the migration lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the data migration workstream across all phases including strategy, planning, extraction, transformation, load, validation, cutover, and hypercare.
  • Define and own the overall SAP data migration strategy, framework, and governance model.
  • Identify data scope, data objects, and source systems across SAP modules including IS-U, FI, CO, SCM, HR, and Payroll.
  • Establish data quality standards, validation rules, reconciliation processes, and data governance practices.
  • Coordinate with functional teams, technical architects, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate mapping of legacy data to S/4HANA structures.
  • Manage the design and execution of data extraction, transformation, and load processes.
  • Align data migration plans with overall program timelines, testing cycles, and cutover activities.
  • Oversee data cleansing, enrichment, and transformation activities to ensure high-quality migration results.
  • Manage migration tools and frameworks including SAP Migration Cockpit, DMLT, iHub, BODS, and LSMW.
  • Lead data validation, reconciliation, and sign-off processes during test cycles and production deployment.
  • Provide status updates, risk mitigation strategies, and executive-level communication for the data migration workstream.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 15+ years of SAP experience with multiple end-to-end SAP implementations or transformation programs.
  • Proven leadership experience as a Data Migration Lead or Senior Data Migration Consultant.
  • Extensive experience delivering data migration for SAP S/4HANA implementations or system conversions.

Strong understanding of SAP functional modules including:

  • SAP IS-U
  • Finance (FI/CO)
  • Supply Chain (SCM)
  • Human Resources & Payroll

Hands-on experience with SAP data migration tools including:

  • SAP Migration Cockpit
  • SAP DMLT
  • Integration Hub (iHub)
  • SAP BODS
  • LSMW
  • Deep understanding of data governance, reconciliation, and data quality frameworks.
  • Experience managing complex enterprise data transformations across multiple systems and stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage large-scale migration programs.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA greenfield or brownfield implementations
  • Knowledge of SAP data governance frameworks and master data management
  • Experience supporting large-scale data cleansing and transformation initiatives
  • Familiarity with cutover planning and deployment readiness activities
