Role Overview

Ajmal Perfumes is seeking a dynamic and result-oriented National Sales Manager to lead and grow its Modern Trade, Key Accounts, and Institutional Business across India. The role will be responsible for driving sales growth, strengthening retail partnerships, expanding product visibility, and ensuring excellent execution across key national accounts and defence channels.

Key Responsibilities

Modern Trade & Key Account Management

  • Manage and grow business with key accounts including
  • DMart
  • Reliance Retail
  • V-Mart
  • Metro Cash & Carry
  • Other regional modern trade chains
  • Drive product listings, assortment expansion, shelf visibility, merchandising, and promotional activities.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements, margins, annual business plans, and promotional investments.
  • Monitor sales performance, stock availability, replenishment, and sell-through across accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key account stakeholders to maximize business opportunities.

Sales Planning & Performance Management

  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for Modern Trade and Key Accounts
  • Track sales performance, stock movement, visibility initiatives, and promotional ROI.
  • Analyze market trends and implement corrective actions to improve business performance

Market Execution & Business Development

  • Conduct regular market and store visits to ensure execution excellence and brand visibility
  • Identify growth opportunities, new account acquisitions, and market expansion initiatives
  • Monitor competitor activities and recommend strategies to strengthen market presence

Cross-Functional

  • Coordination Work closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Retail teams to ensure seamless execution
  • Support new product launches, promotional campaigns, and inventory planning

Institutional Business (CSD/CPC/Defence

  • Manage and expand business across
  • CSD (Canteen Stores Department)
  • CPC Naval/Defence Canteens
  • Handle product listings, approvals, documentation, and compliance requirements
  • Ensure timely supply, billing coordination, and stock replenishment
  • Drive sales growth and product availability across institutional channels

Key Requirements

  • 10–15 years of experience in Modern Trade, Key Account Management, and Sales
  • Proven experience handling national retail chains such as DMart, Reliance Retail, V-Mart, and Metro Cash & Carry
  • Exposure to CSD, CPC, and Defence channel business will be preferred
  • Strong negotiation, relationship management, and commercial acumen
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and execution capabilities
  • Proven track record of delivering sales growth and achieving business targets
