Job Description

About Aivar Innovations

Aivar Innovations is an AI-first technology partner that combines deep engineering expertise with modern product thinking to help customers build, deploy, and scale faster. We focus on accelerating development, improving code quality, and delivering scalable, repeatable technology solutions for clients across fast-moving environments.

Founded by four ex-AWS engineers, Aivar is helping enterprises take AI from pilot to production — fast. We build, deploy, and run real systems in live production environments for customers across fintech, healthcare, logistics, and retail.

We also use AI internally across our own delivery lifecycle — from requirements analysis to engineering execution and delivery management. At Aivar, you will not just build technology for AI-first enterprises; you will work in an AI-native engineering environment every day.

Role Overview

Aivar Innovations is looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer with strong Google Cloud Platform experience to strengthen infrastructure, automate delivery workflows, and improve system reliability across customer and internal environments.

This role will work closely with engineering teams to build secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native platforms on Google Cloud, while enabling faster releases, better observability, stronger automation, and improved operational maturity.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working across GKE, Cloud Run, Terraform, CI/CD, Kubernetes, observability, security, and production support in fast-paced engineering or customer environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Google Cloud Build, or Cloud Deploy.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including reusable modules, remote state management, environment-based deployments, and scalable infrastructure patterns.
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, Google Kubernetes Engine, and Cloud Run.
  • Build and support cloud-native infrastructure using Google Cloud services such as GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, IAM, Secret Manager, Cloud KMS, and VPC networking.
  • Monitor platform health, investigate incidents, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously improve system reliability, availability, and performance.
  • Implement secure Google Cloud configurations including IAM least-privilege access, service accounts, VPC design, encryption, audit logging, secrets management, and network segmentation.
  • Partner with developers to improve release quality, deployment speed, environment consistency, and operational readiness.
  • Support observability using tools such as Google Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Fluent Bit, or similar platforms.
  • Improve automation, documentation, runbooks, deployment standards, and DevOps best practices across engineering teams.
  • Work across customer cloud environments while maintaining high standards for security, reliability, compliance, and delivery quality.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or related roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, IAM, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and VPC networking.
  • Strong experience with Terraform, including modules, state management, reusable infrastructure design, and environment-based provisioning.
  • Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and release automation for cloud-native applications.
  • Good understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and container deployment workflows.
  • Working knowledge of scripting or programming using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, alerting, incident response, and production troubleshooting practices.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security fundamentals including least-privilege access, secrets management, audit logging, encryption, identity management, and secure networking.
  • Ability to work closely with engineering teams and customers to solve infrastructure, deployment, and reliability challenges.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in customer Google Cloud accounts, multi-project environments, or multi-tenant cloud environments.
  • Exposure to compliance-focused infrastructure aligned with SOC 2, HIPAA, HITRUST, ISO 27001, or similar standards.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Security Command Center, Cloud Armor, Cloud KMS, VPC Service Controls, IAM Conditions, Binary Authorization, or Policy Controller.
  • Experience with BigQuery infrastructure, data platform deployments, analytics workloads, or AI/ML platform infrastructure on Google Cloud.
  • Experience with modern observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and distributed tracing tools.
  • Certifications such as Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Associate Cloud Engineer, CKAD, CKA, or Kubernetes-related certifications are a plus.
  • Experience collaborating in high-growth product or services organizations where speed, quality, ownership, and customer delivery matter.

What Success Looks Like

  • CI/CD pipelines are reliable, faster, and reduce manual deployment effort across teams.
  • Infrastructure is automated, repeatable, secure, and scalable across customer environments.
  • Google Cloud environments are well-structured, properly monitored, and easier to manage across projects and workloads.
  • Production systems show improved uptime, stronger observability, and faster incident response.
  • Engineering teams are able to ship confidently with better release processes, environment consistency, and operational support.
  • Cloud environments meet security and compliance expectations without slowing down delivery.

Why Join Aivar Innovations

The Future of Enterprise AI Is Being Built. Will You Engineer It?

Every decade, a technology shift redefines what is possible. We are in the middle of the biggest one yet — and most enterprises are still working out how to move AI from experiments into real production systems.

Aivar exists to make AI real for them.

We are an AI-first technology services company that helps enterprises build, deploy, and run production-grade AI and cloud-native systems. We are not a consultancy that only recommends AI. We are a team that engineers it, ships it, and runs it in live environments.

You will work on real systems, real customers, and real production challenges across industries such as fintech, healthcare, logistics, and retail.

Aivar has onboarded 80+ enterprises in under a year, is growing 2X quarter-on-quarter, and is backed by Sorin Investments and Bessemer Venture Partners with a $4.6M seed round.

The team is already 100+ and scaling fast.

This is your chance to be early at a company defining what AI-native engineering looks like — before everyone else catches on.
