Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic / Electro-Mechanical Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining, repairing, and improving industrial equipment within a large, clean, and climate-controlled manufacturing facility. You will take ownership of maintenance systems, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues, and support continuous improvement of equipment reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of maintenance systems, including preventive maintenance programs and the work order process.
  • Plan, schedule, and perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on production and support equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Understand and support the work order system by accurately entering, updating, and closing maintenance tasks.
  • Plan maintenance events, including coordinating resources, tools, and parts required for repairs and overhauls.
  • Continuously improve equipment performance by identifying opportunities to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Identify and classify equipment defects, including both minor and major issues, and document them in the work order system.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities on a wide range of industrial equipment.
  • Maintain equipment in optimal working condition through regular inspections, adjustments, and repairs.
  • Make mechanical adjustments and repairs to machinery and components as needed.
  • Perform basic electrical repairs, such as replacing motors, sensors, and other components within your scope.
  • Plan and execute major repairs, ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  • Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns by systematically diagnosing issues and restoring equipment to service.
  • Diagnose equipment failures, determine root causes, and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Apply technical knowledge of business processes to ensure equipment supports production requirements and quality standards.
  • Understand and apply pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and power transmission principles and practices in day-to-day work.
  • Fabricate components and devices using manual machine shop equipment to support repairs, modifications, or improvements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation to guide maintenance and repair activities.
  • Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize tasks and support operational goals.
  • Follow safety procedures and best practices while working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Essential Skills

  • At least 5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience as a maintenance technician, maintenance mechanic, or electro-mechanical technician.
  • Proven ability to perform preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated skills in mechanical repairs, including adjustments, alignments, and component replacement.
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment, including identifying faults and restoring operation.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatic systems and their application in industrial machinery.
  • Basic electrical repair skills, including replacing motors, sensors, and related components.
  • Understanding of power transmission principles and practices, including belts, chains, gears, and shafts.
  • Experience using manual machine shop equipment to fabricate components and devices.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with maintenance work order systems and documentation of defects and repairs.
  • Capability to plan and execute major repairs and maintenance events safely and efficiently.

  • Comfort working as part of a cross-functional team in a production setting.
