Highlights of this opportunity:
- Be part of the team of one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers;
- Initiate, research, and pitch original story ideas on a daily basis;
- Write and develop approved stories for multi-platform use, ensuring accuracy and editorial quality;
- Cover breaking news by evaluating leads, interviewing sources, and assessing relevance for target audiences;
- Prepare scripts and story packages, including recommending visuals and collaborating with the team to finalize content.
Your accomplishments and experience include:
- A degree/diploma in journalism or related field with proven experience related to journalism;
- Knowledge of content management systems, Canadian Press News Style, writing headlines and copy editing (web team);
- A strong ability to articulate and effectively communicate issues relevant to Indigenous communities;
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of broadcast technology;
- A valid driver’s license and clear driver’s abstract.
