Highlights of this opportunity:

• Be part of the team of one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers;
• Research, develop, and pitch story ideas while assessing newsworthiness for target audiences;
• Gather and write content, including researching background, interviewing sources, and preparing story outlines;
• Assist in producing full story packages for multi-platform use, including visuals and supporting elements;
• Monitor national and local news to stay current on emerging issues and relevant events;
• Develop and maintain sources and contacts to support ongoing news gathering.

Your accomplishments and experience include:

• Grade 12 education / GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Knowledge of Internet, software, E-mail and television broadcast technology is required;
• Demonstrated experience using a variety of different methods for research;
• Demonstrated confidence and ability to initiate calls, interviews, contacts, etc.;
• Ability to articulate and effectively communicate issues relevant to Indigenous communities;
