Staff Accountant, General Ledger

Affirm proudly includes Returnly. The General Ledger (GL) team is a growing sub-team within the Accounting department, responsible for core day-to-day accounting. Working alongside Accounting Operations and Financial Reporting, we ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately and timely, for ultimate reporting to management and investors. The Staff Accountant is a key player on our team, helping us to move faster and smarter as we grow. What you'll do Prepare workpapers, journal entries, and reconciliations for key accounts such as cash, expenses, leases and/or fixed assets Coordinate regularly with adjacent sub-teams such as Accounting Operations (AP/AR), Treasury and Financial Reporting on reporting, analysis, and process improvements Conduct flux analyses on your assigned accounts and assist the Strategic Finance group in understanding certain new transactions or financial impacts Help author procedural documentation and work with the GL team to improve daily, monthly, and quarterly processes Work with other team members to analyze new contracts, products, and relationships to incorporate them into the GL Support quarterly and annual external audits by providing requested supports and documentation What we look for 2+ years experience in accounting and/or finance Recent experience in GL accounting, which includes the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations, or comparable audit experience CPA license or can demonstrate equivalent working knowledge of financial accounting Adaptable and enjoys working on a rapidly growing team Curious and loves to find new ways of understanding problems or improving processes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and communicates thinking clearly Location - Remote U.S. Grade - USA25 Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position. #LI-Remote Affirm is proud to be a remote-first company!
