Job Description
Position Summary
The Senior Analyst sits within the Finance Process & Operations (FPO) team and serves as a hands-on techno-functional partner supporting the firm’s Payments, Treasury, Banking, Cash Management, Accounting, and related finance systems operations. The role blends day-to-day operational support with business analysis and process improvement, and is expected to weight increasingly toward the latter as the team's finance transformation agenda grows.
Initially, the analyst will build deep system and process knowledge through production support and request management — issue triage, user and access requests, testing, documentation, and operational follow-through across platforms such as PeopleSoft, Appian, and other ERP and workflow tools. This grounding becomes the foundation for broader work: business analysis, change management, reporting, process improvement, user adoption, and product-owner support. The analyst will partner closely with finance users across Treasury, Payments, Accounting, Global Technology Services (GTS), and other stakeholder groups to translate business needs and process pain points into clear requirements, validate system changes through testing and release support, and help improve the efficiency, control, and user experience of finance operations.
A key part of the role is developing practical technology fluency. The analyst will use Excel, reporting platforms, and, where applicable, SQL or other data-querying tools, while developing practical use of AI-enabled tools to investigate issues, accelerate documentation, improve support processes, identify recurring pain points, and support smarter workflows. Success requires strong organization, follow-through, analytical curiosity, sound judgment, clear communication, and a willingness to learn both the business processes and systems that support the firm’s finance operations.
In-Office Requirement: 4 days a week
Responsibilities
Data Analysis, Reporting & AI-Enabled Process Improvement (~35%)
- Perform data analysis across finance systems to support troubleshooting, reporting, and process evaluation, documenting data flows where needed.
- Use Excel, SQL or other data-querying tools, BI platforms, and AI-enabled tools to surface insights, improve documentation, identify automation opportunities, and support workflow, control, and user experience improvements.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards that support day-to-day Payments, Treasury, Accounting, Cash Management, and related finance systems activities.
Requirements, Testing & Solution Delivery (~35%)
- Serve as a business/technology liaison between Global Technology Services (GTS) and finance users, including Payments, Treasury, Accounting, and related operations teams, translating business needs into structured requirements and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate and perform business-side testing (UAT), reviewing test cases and scenarios and validating that delivered systems meet documented requirements.
- Assist with backlog and agile delivery activities as needed by documenting production support issues, identifying recurring pain points, and helping translate support trends into potential enhancement requests or user stories.
- Support change management for newly deployed solutions by developing training and documentation, monitoring adoption, gathering end-user feedback, and translating feedback into enhancement recommendations.
Production Support, Request Management & Operational Controls (~30%)
- Provide Tier 2 production support across finance systems, including PeopleSoft, Appian applications, and other ERP or workflow tools supported by the team, triaging and resolving issues related to payments, treasury, accounting, user access, workflow approvals, interfaces, and finance system data.
- Support request intake, prioritization, documentation, follow-up, and escalation across multiple concurrent support items.
- Monitor system data, interfaces, and controls for accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
- Maintain runbooks, SOPs, known-issue logs, and support documentation to improve consistency and reduce dependency on individual knowledge.
- Assist with user access requests, access reviews, approvals, audit-sensitive processes, and related SOX/control documentation.
- Identify recurring issues, process gaps, training needs, and automation opportunities, recommending solutions that weigh risk and business impact.
