Job opportunity: AVP/Vice President/Principal - Private Equity/Venture Capital/Investment Banking.Location: Mumbai/Bangalore/Delhi NCR/Chennai/HyderabadExperience: 6 to 20 Years Role Overview:The AVP/Vice President/Principal plays a leadership role in the investment lifecycle - sourcing deals, evaluating opportunities, executing transactions, and managing portfolio companies. The role bridges senior partners and junior investment teams and involves strong ownership of investments.Key Responsibilities:(Generic JD):1. Deal Sourcing & Origination:- Identify and develop proprietary investment opportunities across sectors.Build relationships with:1. Founders and promoters.2. Investment bankers and advisors.3. Family offices and institutional investors.- Represent the fund in industry events and ecosystem forums.2. Investment Evaluation & Due Diligence:- Lead end-to-end evaluation of investment opportunities.Conduct:1. Market sizing and competitive analysis2. Financial modelling and valuation3. Commercial and operational diligence- Coordinate third-party diligence providers (legal, financial, technical).- Prepare investment memos and present to Investment Committee.3. Deal Execution:- Structure transactions (equity, structured deals, secondary).- Lead negotiations with promoters and co-investors.- Manage legal documentation and closure processes.- Work with internal legal/compliance teams.4. Portfolio Management:- Act as board member/observer for portfolio companies.Drive value creation initiatives:1. Growth strategy2. Fundraising support3. M&A and partnerships4. Governance and reporting- Monitor portfolio performance and prepare investor updates.5. Fundraising & LP Relations:- Support fundraising efforts and LP engagement.Assist in:1. Fund pitch decks and data rooms2. Quarterly investor reporting3. Annual general meetings (AGMs)6. Team Leadership:- Mentor Associates and Senior Associates.- Review financial models and diligence outputs.- Drive investment themes and sector theses.
