Systems Administrator Jobs

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator to support a mission-critical enterprise IT environment in Springfield, VA . The Systems Administrator will support the Exchange, Directory, and Messaging (EDM) team responsible for maintaining core infrastructure services across a large-scale network. This position will be onsite in Springfield, VA and work a 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm shift. This position requires a TS/SCI CI Poly clearance!

Responsibilities of the Systems Administrator include:

• Administer and maintain Active Directory, Exchange, and Windows Server environments
• Provide Tier II troubleshooting and triage support, resolving or escalating service tickets as needed
• Perform server administration including monitoring system performance, event logs, and service health
• Build and deploy an upgraded SQL instance and SQL cluster supporting SolarWinds monitoring infrastructure
• Develop technical documentation for future infrastructure builds and support decommissioning of SQL Server 2016
• Troubleshoot and resolve outdated queries impacting PowerBI dashboards and reporting systems
• Manage directory services including Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) and Global Address List (GAL) administration
• Support enterprise virtualization and infrastructure operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable IT services

Qualifications of the Systems Administrator include:

• 10+ years of IT experience (professional, military, academic, or related technical experience)
• Experience administering and troubleshooting Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and Windows Server environments
• Experience with SQL Server administration, SQL clustering, or database support
• Experience supporting enterprise monitoring tools such as SolarWinds
• Familiarity with PowerBI queries and reporting systems
• Strong understanding of server administration, virtualization, and event monitoring
• DoD 8570 IAT Level III Certification required
• Active Top Secret Clearance required

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in military or DoD enterprise IT environments
• Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or messaging systems

Compensation for the Systems Administrator includes:

• Salary: $120,000 - $150,000
