A Little About UsThe Yahoo Global Cash Accounting team is responsible for protecting and ensuring the integrity of Yahoo's global cash position. We manage cash operations, multi-currency reconciliations, and compliance controls across our international entities. Operating in a fast-paced environment, our team leverages automation and innovative practices to streamline global reporting, maintain audit-ready financial records, and support stakeholders across the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions.

About the RoleAs a Senior Accountant on the Cash Accounting team, you will take ownership of our global cash transaction lifecycle and balance sheet reconciliations. Working under minimal guidance, you will resolve complex transactional variances, drive operational standards, and act as a primary point of contact for internal and external audits. To succeed in this role, you should possess a mindset of continuous optimization, showing comfort in adapting to and experimenting with AI-augmented tools to automate manual accounting workflows, accelerate close cycles, and enhance financial reporting accuracy.

Note: This role requires working on shifts that align with our Americas and Europe business hours (including late afternoon/evening shifts).

Your Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of global cash accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and integrity of responsible Balance Sheet accounts under minimal guidance.
• Prepare, validate, and post complex journal entries utilizing transaction data sourced from bank statements and internal ledger systems.
• Leverage AI tools to perform rapid diagnostic evaluations on bank-to-ledger discrepancies, using AI to isolate root causes and suggest corrective adjusting entries.
• Perform comprehensive cash and balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure complete book-to-bank alignment during month-end closing activities.
• Identify, design, and implement automated workflow efficiencies in Excel and Oracle ERP systems, utilizing AI-assisted scripting or macro generation to eliminate highly repetitive manual ledger entries.
• Execute key internal SOX controls, manage comprehensive audit documentation, and act as a reliable liaison for internal and external auditors during quarterly and annual reviews.
• Proactively draft, update, and standardize global cash accounting policies, procedures, and internal control checklists.
• Champion finance change initiatives, identifying system inefficiencies and driving process modifications to scale operational capabilities.

You Must Have:

• Chartered Accountant (CA) certification, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential, or equivalent professional accounting qualification (preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant corporate accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger, cash management, or multi-entity cash reconciliations.
• Strong professional working knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance framework requirements.
• Proficiency with Oracle Financials (General Ledger, Cash Management, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable) or a similar tier-one ERP environment.
• Advanced Excel competencies (including complex formulas, data models, and pivot tables).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional global squads.
• Exceptional analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining absolute data confidentiality and integrity.

Good To Have:

• Demonstrated experience using generative AI platforms (e.g., Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT) for advanced problem-solving, document analysis, or workflow automation.
• Experience in prompt engineering or structured interaction with AI tools to build financial reporting templates or automate recurring analytical tasks.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau to manage and configure cash metrics dashboards.
