The Technology Business Analyst supports the firm's practice groups and administrative departments by translating business needs into clear, actionable technology requirements. Reporting to the Practice Technology and Adoption Manager, this role focuses on business analysis, workflow documentation, and adoption support to ensure technology solutions are practical, understandable, and effectively used.
Working within a legal environment, the Technology Business Analyst partners with attorneys, professional staff, and IT teams to understand day-to-day workflows, identify opportunities for improvement, and support the successful delivery and adoption of legal and business applications. This role plays a key part in ensuring technology changes align with real-world use and are positioned for successful rollout in a high-accountability, risk-aware setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct business analysis by engaging with practice groups and administrative teams to understand workflows, challenges, and technology needs;
- Analyze current processes and application usage to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization;
- Translate business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, and process documentation;
- Document current and future state workflows, including dependencies, risks, and system impacts;
- Support solution delivery and adoption through user acceptance testing, readiness activities, and feedback collection;
- Develop and maintain documentation and contribute to continuous improvement and standardization efforts.
REQUIREMENTS
- Three to five or more years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar technology-focused role;
- Experience supporting IT systems or applications in a legal or professional services environment;
- Working knowledge of legal workflows and common law firm systems;
- Experience translating business needs into functional requirements and documentation;
- Experience working within Agile or iterative delivery models;
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
COMPENSATION: The average national salary range for this position is $75,000-$100,000. This salary may be higher or lower depending upon internal equity and years of experience.
