Fire & Safety Officer

Position: Fire Guard

Location: Shopping Mall

Reporting To: Fire & Safety Officer / Security Manager

Job Summary

The Fire Guard is responsible for ensuring fire safety compliance within the mall premises, conducting routine inspections, monitoring fire protection systems, responding to emergencies, and assisting in maintaining a safe environment for shoppers, tenants, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of fire extinguishers, hydrants, hose reels, sprinkler systems, and fire alarm systems.
• Monitor all fire and life safety equipment to ensure it is in working condition.
• Patrol mall premises to identify and report fire hazards or unsafe conditions.
• Ensure emergency exits, fire escape routes, and firefighting equipment remain accessible at all times.
• Respond promptly to fire alarms and emergency situations.
• Assist in evacuation procedures during emergencies and guide occupants to designated assembly points.
• Coordinate with emergency services, including the Fire Department, when required.
• Maintain daily inspection logs, incident reports, and fire safety records.
• Support fire drills and emergency preparedness programs.
• Ensure tenant shops and common areas comply with fire safety regulations and mall policies.
• Report any malfunctioning fire safety equipment to the Fire & Safety Officer immediately.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum qualification: 10th/12th Pass or equivalent.
• Fire & Safety certification preferred.
• Experience in fire safety, security, facility management, or emergency response is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of firefighting equipment and emergency procedures.
• Physically fit and capable of handling emergency situations.
• Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Skills Required

• Knowledge of fire prevention and firefighting techniques.
• Good communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to remain calm and act quickly during emergencies.
• Teamwork and customer-service orientation.

Working Conditions

• Shift-based duty, including day, night, weekends, and public holidays.
• Regular patrolling and standing duties within the mall premises.

Purpose of the Role:

To protect life and property by preventing fire hazards, ensuring fire safety compliance, and providing an effective first response to fire and emergency situations within the mall.

Pay: From ₹21,000.00 per month
