As a Mechanical Engineer Intern - R&D at our company in Kondapur, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to R&D projects and work with cross-functional engineering teams. Role Overview:
This internship is tailored for candidates with a solid understanding of core mechanical engineering principles who are enthusiastic about applying theory to real-world product development. You will be involved in various stages of the R&D lifecycle, including concept development, prototyping, testing, and iteration. Your responsibilities will include CAD design, rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and basic FEA analysis to contribute to the development and validation of mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research, problem definition, and concept development by assisting in translating problem statements into engineering requirements, contributing to ideation, and developing proof-of-concept models.
- Engage in engineering design, CAD, and theoretical analysis by creating 3D models, assemblies, and drawings, performing engineering calculations, and refining designs based on feedback.
- Support multi-domain system integration by collaborating with electronics, understanding packaging constraints, and working with cross-functional teams.
- Participate in rapid prototyping and product development by preparing CAD files, operating 3D printers, and troubleshooting prototypes.
- Assist in simulation, testing, and validation by performing FEA/CFD simulations, setting up experiments, and correlating theoretical calculations with real-world performance.
- Contribute to iteration, failure analysis, and engineering improvement by identifying failure modes, driving design improvements, and iterating rapidly.
- Engage in documentation, reviews, and cross-functional collaboration by maintaining engineering documentation, preparing design reports, participating in design reviews, and collaborating across teams.
Qualifications Required:
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong foundation in core engineering fundamentals including Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Machine Design, and Basic Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics.
- Good understanding of FEA fundamentals including stress, deformation, and boundary conditions.
