Enterprise Fleet Manager

Valcourt is seeking an experienced Enterprise Fleet Manager to lead and manage our company-wide fleet program across all operating companies. This role will provide strategic leadership and hands-on operational oversight for approximately 900 fleet assets supporting 44+ branch locations throughout North America.

The Enterprise Fleet Manager will be responsible for the full vehicle lifecycle, including acquisition, upfitting, assignments, maintenance, compliance, telematics, cost management, and disposal. This position will serve as the primary point of contact between Valcourt and key fleet partners, including Element Fleet Management, Samsara, OEMs, upfitters, maintenance vendors, fuel providers, insurance partners, and internal business leaders.

The ideal candidate is a strong fleet leader who can build enterprise-wide policies and processes while also supporting the day-to-day needs of field operations.

Key Responsibilities: Fleet Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and execute Valcourt’s enterprise fleet strategy.
• Align fleet initiatives with company operational and financial goals.
• Establish fleet KPIs, reporting standards, and performance metrics.
• Create fleet policies, procedures, and governance standards.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the fleet program.
• Serve as the company’s subject matter expert for fleet operations.
• Present fleet performance, trends, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership.

Vehicle Lifecycle Management: Manage the full lifecycle of company vehicles, including

• Vehicle specifications
• OEM selection
• Vehicle ordering
• Upfitting coordination
• Delivery scheduling
• Vehicle assignments
• Replacement planning
• Vehicle transfers
• Fleet utilization analysis
• Vehicle remarketing and disposal

Financial Management: Own and manage annual fleet budgets, including

• Vehicle acquisition planning
• Lease vs. purchase analysis
• Operating cost management
• Fuel spend analysis
• Maintenance spend
• Accident costs
• Registration expenses
• Telematics costs

Additional responsibilities include:

Vendor Management

Manage relationships with key fleet partners, including:

• Element Fleet Management

• Maintenance providers

• Samsara and other telematics providers
• Toll management providers
• Registration vendors
• Insurance and Risk partners

Responsible for:

• Vendor performance reviews
• SLA management
• Escalation management
• Contract compliance
• Continuous improvement opportunities

Maintenance & Asset Management

Oversee:

• Preventive maintenance programs
• Repair approvals
• Warranty recovery
• Maintenance compliance
• Vehicle downtime
• Repair escalations
• Vendor performance
• Lifecycle cost analysis

Driver Management

Support fleet-related driver processes, including:

• New hire onboarding
• Vehicle assignments
• Driver eligibility
• Driver communications
• Vehicle reassignments
• Leave of absence vehicle management
• Driver offboarding
• Fleet policy education

Safety & Compliance

Lead enterprise fleet compliance efforts, including:

• Fleet policy administration
• Driver qualification standards
• MVR management
• Telematics compliance
• Safety scorecard monitoring
• Camera program administration
• Collision management
• Accident investigations
• Regulatory compliance
• OSHA and DOT coordination, where applicable

Registration & Licensing

Oversee:

• Titles
• Registrations
• State renewals
• Plate transfers
• Multi-state compliance
• Fleet documentation
• Regulatory reporting

Telematics & Technology

Own enterprise fleet technology, including:

• Samsara implementation and optimization
• Driver scorecards
• Idle reporting
• GPS analytics
• Utilization reporting
• Fuel exception reporting
• Camera event review
• Fleet dashboards
• Field adoption of fleet technology

Reporting & Analytics

Develop executive dashboards and reporting around:

• Fleet size
• Fleet utilization
• Replacement schedules
• Maintenance spend
• Fuel spend
• Cost per mile
• Accident frequency
• Safety metrics
• Vehicle downtime
• Vendor performance
• Fleet savings
• Budget performance

Cross-Functional Leadership

Partner closely with:

Serve as the primary point of contact for fleet-related initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Fleet Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 7–10+ years of fleet management experience.
• Experience managing large-scale fleets of 500+ vehicles.
• Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting skills.
• Vendor negotiation and contract management experience.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
• Advanced Excel and data analytics proficiency.
• Experience using fleet management software.

Preferred

• CAFM, Certified Automotive Fleet Manager.
• CAFS certification.
• Experience with Element Fleet Management.
• Experience with Samsara telematics.
• Multi-state fleet compliance experience.
• Construction, commercial services, or field service fleet experience.
