2D Animator – Silent Short Film (3–4 minutes)

About the Project:

We are making a silent animation set in Thailand. The story follows Rambo, a shy flower seller, and Lookkhaw, the girl he crashes into.

The film uses expressive character animation, physical comedy, and emotional moments to tell a warm story about choosing love over fear.

This is a very short project. The competition is next month, so the turnaround is only 2.5 weeks. I want to work together as a team, so I am happy to use the style and software you are most comfortable with.

The competition has cash prizes for the top three winners. If we win (which I am aiming for), we will split the prize money equally.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a 2D animator to bring the characters to life.

Key Responsibilities:

Animate 3–4 minutes of finished 2D animation

Show key emotions: swooning, panic, awe, sadness, jealousy, joy

Animate physical comedy: bike weaving, cat jump scare, crash, scrape, bowing, running away

Create small romantic gestures: hand covering sun, necklace return, smiling walk

Requirements

Understanding of silent film pacing (big expressions, clear body language)

Ability to work alone and meet a tight deadline (3–4 minute final film)

Deliverables:

Full 3–4 minute animated short at 24fps, 1080p

Hard deadline because the film festival is next month

Timeline: Final delivery by May 7th (to allow time for the composer and sound designer)
