Job Summary
The Pharmacy Technician III provides advanced pharmacy support services including dispensing, preparing, compounding, and delivering medications. This role assists pharmacists and works as part of an interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe and accurate medication processing. Responsibilities include inventory management, compliance support, medication history collection, and maintaining pharmacy records. The technician follows USP standards and best practices while supporting operations within ambulatory, inpatient, infusion, or research pharmacy settings. The role may also assist with training and onboarding staff under the guidance of Pharmacy Leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, package, label, and process medication orders for pharmacist verification, including accurate data entry.
- Maintain and monitor medication and supply inventory, reporting shortages as needed.
- Utilize pharmacy technology systems such as automated dispensing, barcoding, and order-entry platforms.
- Deliver medications and pharmacy supplies to patients or care areas while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Calculate, measure, and compound medications according to USP 795, 797, and 800 standards.
- Collect medication histories and assist with specialized medication handling or compounding as needed.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and the healthcare team to support patient medication management.
- Assist with training and onboarding pharmacy staff when needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education & Experience - Required
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Maryland Technician Registration or Maryland Pharmacy Intern Certificate or Pharmacy Student Technician Exemption Certificate is acceptable for students enrolled and in good standing at an accredited School of Pharmacy
- 1 year experience required
Education & Experience - Preferred
- Medication History experience preferred
- National Certification (CPhT)

Pay Range: $22.57 - $31.59
