Job Summary
The Division of Continuing Education at the University of
Colorado, Boulder is currently accepting applications for a
Marketing Automation Specialist ! Continuing Education
extends the resources of CU Boulder by providing programming and
learning opportunities to a wide range of students.
The Marketing Automation Specialist is primarily responsible for
CRM management, email marketing campaigns and event management
within the CRM in support of multiple areas of programming in
Continuing Education’s portfolio. Reporting to the Assistant
Director of Marketing, this position also works in concert with
other program managers throughout the Division of Continuing
Education.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
CRM Management
- In coordination with the Assistant Director of Marketing, lead
the marketing team’s use of the University’s CRM tools to support
the achievement of recruitment and retention goals.
- Support recruitment processes through the design, development
and implementation of CRM tools including form building, email
marketing, incoming communication organization, application
processes, and more.
- Act as the Marketing Team’s CRM expert. Collaborate with other
system users across the Division, campus and university system to
share knowledge and create consistency across the platform.
- Act as a liaison with program managers and campus partners to
provide tools, training, and support to help meet program
recruitment and marketing goals through CRM standard
processes.
- Be a flexible and creative problem solver to ensure the
marketing team meets their goals when systems and processes
threaten to hinder progress.
Email Marketing
- Distribute communications via the appropriate/most effective
communication platform (i.e. Slate, Marketing Cloud, etc.) based on
program, audience, marketing goals, and other
institutional/administrative considerations.
- Create and implement comprehensive email marketing strategies.
Work collaboratively with program staff and the marketing team to
generate email messages that result in open and click through rates
in line with industry standards.
- Design email templates within the CRM that adhere to university
brand, accessibility guidelines, and marketing standards. Work
collaboratively with the Communications Manager and other content
creators to produce engaging and programmatically accurate email
content.
- Lead a QA process that ensures messages are accurate, timely,
and reach the appropriate audience(s). Be forthcoming with content
concerns and maintain a high level of quality for all
communications.
- Manage the schedule for and implement the production of Urge to
Apply and other time-sensitive communications.
- Manage the process of updating content and refreshing template
designs for email campaign annually.
Event Management within CRM
- Work with a cross-functional team of program staff, recruiters,
the Senior Web Manager and Communications Manager to create and
manage events within the CRM, including creation of registration
forms, building and scheduling pre- and post-event communications,
and reporting.
- Provide leadership on standard processes, following established
protocols, and providing positive guidance when contingencies
arise.
Reporting and Analysis
- Work with the Assistant Dean and Assistant Director to
determine goals and tactics for measuring outcomes and analyzing
data, whether the goals were met, and to assist in future campaign
planning.
- Design, build, and run CRM reports to generate data on the
effectiveness of advertising and email campaigns.
Division Support, Professional Development and Other Duties as
assigned
- Participate in Division and university-wide committee work and
attend regular staff meetings.
- Engage in regular and ongoing professional development specific
to job duties.
What You Should Know
This is a full-time, hybrid position with a minimum of 2 days in
the office.

The annual salary for this position is $70,900 - $72,240.

What We Require
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and
experience may substitute.
- 3 years diverse professional experience in areas
including:
- Integrated marketing campaign strategy and execution
- Email marketing strategy and audience segmentation
- Planning, building and measuring communication campaigns in a
CRM
- CRM administration
What You Will Need
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including
the ability to synthesize information in a clear and concise
manner.
- Ability to set and meet deadlines, track project progress, and
communicate scheduling challenges.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher,
PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Great attention to detail and ability to work constructively
with others to mitigate any perceived data (or other) issues.
- Experience writing HTML for email.
- Google Analytics.
What We Would Like You to Have
- 3-5 years experience communicating with diverse audiences.
- Experience communicating with nontraditional student
populations, including online learners.
- Experience using the Slate CRM/application platform and
Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Enrollment management experience.
- Working understanding or experience running digital advertising
campaigns.
- Energetic self-starter who has the desire and ability to work
independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and organizational
skills.
- Experience in an academic environment, community organization,
or non-profit.
