Job Description
Total Rewards is responsible for all system generated transactional work related to new hires, transfers, temporary contract administration, work permit administration, temporary responsibility pay administration, life event changes (marriage, birth, death), benefit changes, beneficiary changes, leaves education and administration, pension administration etc., maternity, personal, family medical and sick leave, rate changes, historical changes due to rates, ROE’s.
The focus of this role is to provide system support, deliver service excellence, and collaborate with internal and external partners to address system, process, and practice related needs for both the Total Rewards Team and the broader Human Resources function. The role is accountable for the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and serves in a leadership capacity, providing day-to-day guidance to the Total Rewards Team on all HRIS-related matters.
Responsibilities and Activities
- Accountable for the overall oversight, performance, and continuous improvement of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), including GHR and S3.
- Lead the design, configuration, and maintenance of HRIS functionality to support Total Rewards, On-Boarding, benefits, pension, and broader HR operations.
- Coordinate and manage mass system changes, ensuring active engagement and alignment of all internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings (e.g., weekly checkpoints) to track progress, address issues, and ensure timely delivery of system updates.
- Act as the primary HRIS subject matter expert, providing guidance, troubleshooting support, and resolution of system-related issues.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (HR, Payroll, BI, and leadership) and external partners/vendors to resolve technical issues and implement system enhancements.
- Identify process gaps through workflow analysis and lead cross-functional initiatives to improve system efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and implement tools, processes, and best practices to streamline workflows and enhance HRIS performance.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy across systems through regular audits, monitoring, and reconciliation with key stakeholders.
- Oversee system testing, upgrades, and enhancements, including end-to-end testing, risk mitigation, and implementation of changes.
- Lead training, coaching, and communication initiatives to ensure effective adoption and use of HRIS across the Total Rewards Team and broader HR function.
- Partner with stakeholders to develop reporting, analytics, and insights, while supporting strategic decision-making and continuous improvement of HR processes.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Technology required.
- Minimum 3-5 years recent experience maintaining Human Resource systems in a complex unionized environment, in order to be able to provide advisory services and functional support. Experience must include writing and/or defining briefing notes/code, managing systems upgrade and modification projects, determining system problems and identifying solutions.
