Job Description

We are a leader in the nonprofit fundraising space with a vibrant, in-house art department, and we are looking for a temporary, part-time Senior Graphic Designer to join our team. As a Senior Graphic Designer, you will spearhead the creation of art files for mail and digital fundraising campaigns by collaborating with Account and Production. The solutions you come up with for multi-channel fundraising campaigns will be in line with approved strategy and within established brand guidelines.
A healthy mix of creative and technical know-how, and knowledge of direct marketing best practices makes the Senior Graphic Designer an indispensable part of the creative team.
Requirements
The Senior Graphic Designer should have a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in graphic design and be well versed in print and online production. They should possess a strong sense of concept development, proven typographic and layout skills, strict attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work. Experience with direct-response fundraising and digital marketing is required.
The Senior Graphic Designer should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, outstanding organizational, project management, and file-organization skills, along with a high level of technical expertise in desktop publishing including proficiency and experience with InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
1. Collaborate closely with account teams and production staff to:
- Strategize art for selected mail and digital campaigns as needed
- Lead Art Kickoff meetings with an eye toward confirming all specs of the job, ensuring an understanding of all tests involved, confirming schedules, and reviewing budgetary limits of the job
- Confirm or suggest alternate specs, and liaise with account and production team members as needed
- Accurately revise art files through internal edits until designs are approved and can be finalized by support staff in the department
2. Source images for print and online applications including:
- Collaborating with outside Agencies to source licensed art
- Searching for stock or other images on clients databases, creating lightboxes of images for teams review
- Photo retouching/silhouetting/manipulation in Photoshop
- Recreating, retouching, or recoloring logo files in Illustrator
3. Administrative and Special Projects:
- Supply art for internal Marketing needs of the Co-op or the Company
- Membership in an industry organization
- Other tasks as assigned

About Our Location
We are located south of Dupont Circle in Washington, DC. The position is offered in either a Hybrid, On-site, or remote capacity.
