Project overview

This contract is for an animator to develop a lively, educational pilot episode for a new YouTube series based on a children’s coloring book. The story follows Kid Killebrew, a student whose success in school unlocks magical sneakers that gradually give him new powers. The series is designed to encourage young audiences with messages around learning, responsibility, and community, all presented through colorful visuals and engaging storytelling.

The pilot is expected to run for 1 to 2 minutes. There is also the possibility of continuing with weekly episodes if the collaboration goes ahead. The work is best suited to someone who enjoys creating children’s content and can keep a consistent 2D cartoon look throughout the series.

Deliverables

• Animate characters and scenes in a bright 2D cartoon format suitable for children and family audiences
• Build simple, colorful background environments that support the characters and story
• Synchronize animation with dialogue and incorporate voice performances into the scenes
• Use sound effects and visual effects to strengthen the storytelling and keep viewers engaged
• Maintain a consistent visual style across the pilot and any future episodes
• Work from supplied character artwork, episode outlines, and brand assets
• Produce a finished 1–2 minute pilot episode that is ready for publication on YouTube

Requirements

• Hands-on experience creating 2D animation, preferably for children’s or family-oriented projects
• Comfort using animation tools such as Adobe Animate, Toon Boom Harmony, or comparable software
• Solid ability in character movement, lip-sync animation, and visual storytelling
• Capability to design simple but appealing backgrounds and blend in sound and visual effects
• Careful attention to detail and a strong focus on preserving a consistent style
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow provided assets and creative direction
• A portfolio showing relevant animation work
• Availability for possible ongoing weekly collaboration on the series
