20-TON HEAVY MACHINERY OPERATOR

Articulated Mining Truck Operator | Autonomous Vehicle Testing

Location: Sunol, CA

Pay: $45.00 Per Hour (Non-Negotiable)

Schedule: Full-Time | 12-Hour Shifts

Contract Length: 1+ Year Opportunity

Join a growing autonomous vehicle operations team supporting the testing and operation of advanced mining and heavy equipment vehicles.

We are hiring experienced Heavy Machinery Operators and Articulated Haul Truck Drivers to safely operate, inspect, and evaluate large autonomous mining vehicles while working closely with engineering and operations teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for safety-focused operators with strong heavy equipment experience who are interested in advanced vehicle technology and autonomous systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely operate 20-ton articulated mining trucks and heavy fleet equipment
• Perform detailed pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Complete DVIRs and report maintenance concerns promptly
• Support autonomous vehicle testing and evaluation activities
• Provide written and verbal feedback to engineering teams regarding vehicle performance and safety systems
• Maintain strict safety and operational compliance standards
• Assist with hardware and software testing activities
• Operate additional fleet vehicles and equipment as needed
• Travel up to 5%-50% when required to support testing operations

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5 years of verifiable heavy machinery operating experience
• Experience operating and backing large 20-ton vehicles
• Strong understanding of equipment safety procedures and inspections
• Ability to drive and operate equipment for extended periods
• Clean driving record required
• Ability to pass:
• Background Check
• Road Test
• DOT Physical
• Drug Screening
• Professional attitude with strong communication skills
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• CDL Class A License preferred but not required
• Experience with articulated haul trucks, mining vehicles, excavators, or bulldozers(5 years of verifiable)
• Interest in autonomous vehicle technology and advanced driver systems

WORK SCHEDULE

12-hour rotating shift schedule:

Week 1:

• 3 Days On / 4 Days Off

Week 2:

• 4 Days On / 3 Days Off

Training may take place in Sunnyvale, CA during the first week. Primary work location after training will be Sunol, CA and
