Job Description
As a Senior Project Accountant working on FinTech Projects at Booking, you will be a key member of the Global Accounting Team Center of Excellence. Your primary role will involve representing accounting in the design, implementation, and testing of new business initiatives related to funds flow between customers and partners. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and taking ownership of the design, implementation, and testing of large-scale new business initiatives with a focus on long-term scalability.
- Providing and communicating accounting reporting and process requirements to stakeholders to ensure completeness and accuracy of accounts for new initiatives.
- Collaborating with Business Intelligence and Data Analytics teams to design, implement, and test reporting for new initiatives to be used in the monthly closing process.
- Actively identifying and supporting the implementation of continuous improvements and innovations, including utilizing tools such as excel macros, SAP scripting, and other automation tools.
- Working closely with external providers such as local accountants and external auditors to ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Assisting in establishing documentation, manuals, and procedures to help the team meet and exceed department goals.
Qualifications required for this role include:
- Minimum 7-8 years of Accounting experience.
- Experience in working on projects and/or in the online payments industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS.
- Strong IT experience in financial systems, with preference given to familiarity with SAP S4 & FICA.
- Proficiency in excel macros, SAP scripting, and other automation tools.
- Experience working with Product, Business Intelligence, and Data Analytics teams is preferred.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
