Freelance Infrastructure Engineer – Citrix / VMware / Networking

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Security Engineer specializing in SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) to support automation initiatives within enterprise Security Operations Centers (SOC / Cyber Defense Centers) .

The consultant will design, build, and maintain SOAR automation playbooks using Python , integrate multiple security platforms, and help optimize incident response workflows through security automation.

This role requires hands-on experience with SOAR platforms, SIEM systems, Python scripting, and API integrations within SOC environments.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in Citrix, VMware virtualization, data-centric architecture, load balancing, and enterprise networking .

The consultant will be responsible for supporting and optimizing enterprise infrastructure environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability across virtualized and network-based systems.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience managing virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), enterprise virtualization platforms, load balancers, and network infrastructure .

Key Responsibilities

Citrix Infrastructure

Design, deploy, and manage Citrix environments (CVAD / Virtual Apps & Desktops) Support VDI and application virtualization environments Monitor performance and troubleshoot Citrix infrastructure issues

VMware Virtualization

Manage and support VMware vSphere / ESXi / vCenter environments Handle VM provisioning, optimization, and resource allocation Maintain high availability and disaster recovery configurations

Data-Centric Architecture

Support infrastructure that powers data-driven enterprise applications Optimize storage, compute, and network performance for data workloads

Load Balancers & Networking

Configure and manage enterprise load balancers (F5, Citrix ADC, or similar) Support networking components including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and firewalls Ensure high availability and failover architecture

Infrastructure Operations

Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across virtualization and networking layers Implement performance tuning and infrastructure optimization Collaborate with application and platform teams

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Citrix (CVAD / VDI / Citrix ADC) Experience managing VMware vSphere / ESXi / vCenter Knowledge of data-centric or data platform infrastructure architectures Experience with enterprise load balancers (F5, Citrix ADC, Nginx, HAProxy, etc.) Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, DNS, firewalls) Experience troubleshooting complex enterprise infrastructure environments
