Key Responsibilities:

• Provide protection for important locations including The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and various foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in Washington, D.C.
• Engage in travel to support missions of the President, Vice President, and foreign heads of state/government.
• Enforce protective responsibilities as mandated by federal law.

Eligibility Requirements:

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
• Applicants must be at least 21 years old and under 40 at referral, with exceptions for federal law enforcement veterans.
• Candidates must be capable of carrying and using a firearm and maintaining proficiency.
• Vision requirements include uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 and corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better.
• Hearing capability must meet specified standards.
• Pass a drug test prior to appointment as well as random drug testing thereafter.
• Complete 12 weeks of training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center followed by 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center.
• Males must certify registration with the Selective Service System, or qualify for exemption.
