Are you ready to take on a thrilling and rewarding career as a Secret Service Police Officer? We invite you to consider joining our dedicated team, where courage, intelligence, and determination are at the core of our mission.
In this vital role, you will provide protection to key locations including:
- The White House Complex
- The Vice President's Residence
- The Main Treasury Building and Annex
- Foreign diplomatic missions and embassies
Your duties will also include:
- Traveling to support Presidential and Vice Presidential missions, as well as visits from foreign leaders.
- Effectively enforcing mandated protective responsibilities under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
- At least 21 years old at the time of application and under 40 at referral, with exceptions for eligible candidates.
- Ability to carry and use a firearm, with mandatory proficiency.
- Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular; corrected acuteness of 20/20 or better in each eye.
- Hearing loss cannot exceed 25 decibels in specified frequency ranges.
- Must pass a drug test prior to appointment and undergo random drug testing thereafter.
- Complete 12 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) and 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must certify registration with the Selective Service System or be exempt.
