Secret Service Police Officer

In this vital role, you will provide protection to key locations including:

• The White House Complex
• The Vice President's Residence
• The Main Treasury Building and Annex
• Foreign diplomatic missions and embassies

Your duties will also include:

• Traveling to support Presidential and Vice Presidential missions, as well as visits from foreign leaders.
• Effectively enforcing mandated protective responsibilities under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
• At least 21 years old at the time of application and under 40 at referral, with exceptions for eligible candidates.
• Ability to carry and use a firearm, with mandatory proficiency.
• Uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular; corrected acuteness of 20/20 or better in each eye.
• Hearing loss cannot exceed 25 decibels in specified frequency ranges.
• Must pass a drug test prior to appointment and undergo random drug testing thereafter.
• Complete 12 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) and 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center.
• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must certify registration with the Selective Service System or be exempt.
