Position Overview: The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is an important Merchant-centric sales leadership role within TD Merchant Solutions. In this role, you’ll help bring this momentum to market—supporting our next-generation solutions being advanced through our exciting partnership with Fiserv. TD Merchant Solutions is focused on Our Merchant Quest – To double the number of fully franchised Merchant & Business Banking clients at TD – our key business strategy in support of our growth mandate, and we’re energized by the innovation ahead as we refresh and modernize our offering with Fiserv. As part of this strategy, the Regional Sales Manager is a key resource in the management and execution of our acquisition tactics in their local markets. As a trusted sales & service payments leader this individual will be responsibility for leading a team of Business Development Specialists (BDS) who are responsible for acquisition activities in their assigned territory, to achieve sales targets and build an effective pipeline of future opportunities in the SMB segment. The Regional Sales Manager will: Achieve team sales targets by providing exceptional sales advice coaching to maximize acquisition opportunities within the assigned territory Positively represent our Brand in their local market and communities by actively promoting the value proposition of TD Merchant Solutions Lead the team by identifying opportunities for growing new merchant relationships through lead generation, prospecting, proposals (incl RFPs), contract negotiation through to sales closing Assist the team with developing external networks to increase lead generation opportunities Work with select Business Banking partners to develop collaborative go-to-market acquisition strategies, championing the refreshed solutions enabled through our Fiserv partnership, and expand internal networks to fully franchise new merchants with the Bank Employ effective business development (i.e. targeted cold calling, COIs, etc.) & relationship management techniques to assist in achieving established sales targets for the territory Developing and executing on business plans aligned with Merchant Solutions business goals Act as a SME for our Regional Sales Team in business initiatives, special projects as required from time-to-time Supporting Merchant LEI improvement strategies and activities in support of our Merchant-centric model Lead with integrity, including support, mentor and effectively guide the team by promoting a positive colleague experience Job Requirements: Ability to assist in development and execution of tactical sales plans including establishing targets and account objectives Demonstrated people management skills with the ability to motivate, coach, train and provide guidance to staff resolving issues and concerns that may be difficult and complex Experience working in a remote environment and comfortable being autonomous Self-motivated and strong work ethic Proven track record and thorough knowledge of various sales, marketing, and business development strategies including experience with CRM tools, specifically Salesforce Constantly build knowledge of the local market and payments industry and disseminate this to the team in support of their acquisition activities Deliver the Bank by recommending and promoting team members to introduce TDBG Partners to fully franchise our Merchants Effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet timelines Ability to impact and influence individuals at all levels of an organization Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with the ability to deliver effective presentations to Merchants, senior management, and business partners Demonstrate Leadership as per Guiding Principles and Leadership Profile Embrace and promote positive work environment that supports diversity, Pulse, and PDP’s Willing to travel as required and to work variable hours driven by needs of the business Key Attributes: Proven People Manager with ability to effectively coach and lead a remote team of Business Development Specialists Skillful communication (written and verbal), negotiation, and partnership skills to balance stakeholder input while remaining objective and resilient to reach the right outcomes Excellent analytical and business acumen with the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple deadlines and priorities, and identify/assess risks and issues Additional Information: Post-Secondary Education (University Degree, College Diploma or equivalent) in Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent experience in Sales or Business Development Previous experience working in Merchant Solutions, Business Banking and/or the Payments industry would be very beneficial Minimum 5 years' experience in sales and 2+ years in management capacity would be an asset In-depth knowledge and industry related experience in an acquiring business to deliver on comprehensive solutions to small and medium sized Merchants is an asset Demonstrated computer proficiency; intermediate knowledge of Salesforce, and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Must live in western Canada, ideally Calgary, Edmonton or Vancouver.
