Job Description

• Collect, clean, and validate engineering-related data from multiple sources including sensors, ERP systems, CAD software, and project management tools.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Python-based visualization libraries to track key performance indicators (KPIs) in real time.
• Perform statistical analysis and predictive modeling to forecast equipment performance, maintenance needs, and production outcomes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define data requirements, improve data collection processes, and ensure data integrity across systems.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend data-backed solutions to improve design, manufacturing, and testing processes.
• Automate repetitive data tasks using SQL, Python, or R to increase reporting efficiency and reduce manual errors.
• Support root cause analysis for engineering failures or performance deviations by analyzing historical and real-time data.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for stakeholders, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• Stay updated with emerging data analytics trends and technologies relevant to the engineering sector.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field), Computer Science, Statistics, or a quantitative discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within an engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and managing large datasets; experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Strong analytical skills with expertise in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
• Hands-on experience with Python or R for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and automation.
• Familiarity with Excel at an advanced level, including pivot tables, macros, and VBA.
• Understanding of engineering data types (e.g., sensor data, CAD outputs, test results) and data lifecycle management.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment in Pune.
