Position Summary
The Sales Engineer will serve as the primary technical point of contact for prospective customers evaluating the company’s software solutions. You will lead discovery conversations, evaluate customer engineering workflows, identify opportunities, and present tailored solutions that solve real‑world business challenges.
This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing role that combines technical analysis, solution design, and sales execution. You’ll collaborate closely with software engineers, project managers, partners, and executive stakeholders to scope requirements, prepare quotations, and drive deals forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate customer requirements to identify current and future sales opportunities
- Lead discovery calls, product demonstrations, and technical presentations
- Analyze customer engineering workflows and challenges to propose best‑fit solutions
- Collaborate with software engineers to scope requirements, estimate effort, and design solutions
- Draft specifications, quotations, and proposals; present and negotiate with customers
- Enable and support partners to successfully position and sell solutions
- Drive decision‑making by effectively engaging technical, business, and executive stakeholders
- Partner with project managers to ensure smooth handoffs after deal close
- Provide feedback on customer needs, trends, and market insights to help inform product direction
- Represent the company at trade shows, partner events, and user groups (primarily in the U.S.)
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer) or equivalent practical experience
- Strong technical aptitude, ideally within software or manufacturing‑focused environments
- Proven ability to understand customer businesses and map solutions to real needs
- Comfortable leading technical discussions and engaging executive‑level stakeholders
- Detail‑oriented with a commitment to accuracy, trust, and long‑term customer relationships
- Self‑motivated, organized, and capable of balancing multiple priorities
- Collaborative team player who enjoys contributing to a close‑knit, high‑performing team
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills
- Willingness and enthusiasm for travel and in‑person customer engagement
