About the Role
As an Engineering Underwriter, you will be at the heart of our underwriting operations — bridging analytical excellence with client-focused solutions. You will partner closely with senior underwriters to drive economic profit growth, delivering sharp pre-underwriting analysis and seamless post-underwriting support across treaty and facultative engineering business. Key Responsibilities
- Drive economic profit growth by providing high-quality analytical support to senior underwriters in India, enabling informed underwriting decisions on engineering treaty and facultative business
- Conduct thorough exposure assessments, input pricing data into systems, and prepare pre-underwriting notes for review by Engineering Underwriters
- Complete post-underwriting activities accurately and efficiently in the system upon finalization of business by the underwriter
- Analyse client requests from the Indian market and deliver well-reasoned recommendations on engineering treaty and facultative business
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support deal-team solutions and client needs
- Contribute to and exchange knowledge within the Engineering Underwriting community, sharing insights and best practices across the global network
- Stay informed on global Engineering market trends and developments, applying specialist know-how to add value to clients and client teams in India
- Bring a collaborative mindset and technical expertise to cross-functional initiatives

We are looking for candidates with the following requirements:
- 3–8 years of insurance industry experience or reinsurance sector, with underwriting experience preferred
- On-ground experience in the construction industry, providing practical understanding of engineering risks and project environments is preferred
- Engineering qualification — a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Mechanical Engineering from a recognised government or elite private institution
- A Master's in Business Administration from the National Insurance Academy or an equivalent (re)insurance-specialised institution is an added advantage

- Familiarity with the Indian insurance or reinsurance market and its regulatory landscape
- Experience working with pricing tools or underwriting systems and inputting/managing technical data
- Exposure to claims advisory or coverage analysis in an engineering context
