Job Opportunity: Mechanical Design Project Leader (Robotics & Automation with Fameccanica in Boston Hub (Middleton, MA)

Fameccanica North America is launching a new Robotics & Automation Engineering Hub just north of Boston, and we’re looking for a Mechanical Design Project Leader to help build it.

This is a rare chance to join a small, high-impact team at the ground level. You’ll help shape project execution, system design, and team operations—while benefiting from the support of a global organization with proven technology, established customers, and existing production infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

Lead mechanical design for robotics and automation projects
Coordinate engineering work across mechanical, electrical, and software teams
Manage projects from concept and design through build, testing, and delivery
Support assembly and testing by troubleshooting design issues in real time
Help develop project plans, schedules, and technical proposals
Mentor junior engineers and support team growth
Join client discussions, design reviews, and key project milestones

What You Bring

5-10 years of mechanical design experience in automation, robotics, or machinery
Experience leading or coordinating technical projects
Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or similar)
Ability to balance hands-on design work with project leadership
Strong problem-solving skills and comfort in a fast-paced environment
Clear communication across teams, functions, and, at times, with clients
