Reporting To: Onsite Program Incharge
Position Summary
The Social Worker – Agriculture & Livelihood supports the field-level implementation of sustainable agriculture, natural farming, farmer mobilization, and livelihood enhancement interventions. The role focuses primarily on:
- Sustainable farming promotion
- Farmer capacity building
- Producer Group strengthening
- Government scheme facilitation
- Agriculture demonstrations and livelihood support
Key Responsibilities
- Farmer Mobilization: Mobilize farmers and rural households for project activities; conduct regular farmer meetings, awareness sessions, and training programs.
- Sustainable Practices: Promote natural farming, organic composting, climate-resilient agriculture, and multi-layer farming systems.
- On-Ground Trials: Support the establishment of Bio Resource Centres (BRCs) and set up local agricultural demonstration plots.
- Capacity Building: Organize technical workshops, specialized training, and exposure visits for local farmers.
- Livelihood & Markets: Facilitate the formation and strengthening of grassroots Producer Groups (PGs) and assist with market linkage opportunities.
- Scheme Facilitation: Assist individual farmers and households in accessing government agriculture benefits and livelihood schemes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate beneficiary records, track field data, submit progress reports, and document agricultural success stories.
Required Skills
- Community Engagement: Strong farmer mobilization, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of sustainable, climate-resilient, and natural farming practices.
