Job Description
Qualifications – Northern Ontario Healthcare Facility
- Current CNO Registration in good standing
- Minimum 3 years of recent Canadian RN experience, with strong Emergency Room and ICU background required
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, CTAS, and TNCC certifications required
- Start Date: May 18th, 2026
- End Date: August 31st, 2026
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays as required
- Experience caring for high-acuity patients in ER and ICU settings required

Responsibilities
Registered Nurses are required to adhere to the scope of practice as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Provide emergency and critical care nursing assessments, interventions, and treatments
- Monitor ventilated patients and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Initiate, run, and titrate medication drips for unstable patients
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with multiple lines, drains,
- medications, and complex care needs
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards
Note: Duties may vary slightly based on facility needs and shift assignment, with specific guidance provided during site orientation.
Experience
- 3+ years of relevant Canadian healthcare experience in ER and ICU required
- Previous rural or northern hospital experience is considered an asset
- Familiarity with electronic charting systems is an asset
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong clinical judgment and adaptability in high-pressure situations
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively in emergency situations
- Strong attention to detail for accurate documentation and medication administration
- Confidence managing critically ill and unstable patients
- Compassion and empathy when supporting patients and families
