Travel Housekeeping Aide – Northern Ontario Healthcare Facility (Full-Time)

Qualifications – Northern Ontario Healthcare Facility

• Successful completion of a housekeeping course in a healthcare environment is considered an asset
• Experience in housekeeping duties (healthcare setting preferred)
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling
• Availability for shift work, including short-notice scheduling when required
• Pay Rate: $30/hr

Responsibilities

Housekeeping Aides are required to adhere to established infection control standards and facility cleaning protocols. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Clean assigned work areas according to established policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients, residents, and staff
• Follow infection control practices at all times
• Ensure adequate supply levels of housekeeping materials on carts and in storage areas
• Properly dilute and handle cleaning solutions in accordance with safety guidelines
• Collect and dispose of waste in accordance with facility procedures
• Clean and disinfect patient/resident rooms, including terminal cleaning and bed sanitization upon discharge
• Identify and report defective equipment or maintenance issues via appropriate requisition processes
• Maintain knowledge of updated departmental policies and procedures
• Participate in continuous improvement of cleaning and safety standards

Note: Duties may vary depending on facility needs and shift assignment, with orientation provided on site.

Experience

• 1+ year of relevant housekeeping experience (healthcare environment preferred)
• Familiarity with infection control procedures considered an asset
• Experience working in fast-paced, high-demand environments
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Physically capable of performing demanding housekeeping duties
