Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
  • Experience or strong interest working with autistic students at the high school level
  • Understanding of IEP processes and accommodations
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Comfortable assisting with toileting duties as needed
  • Patience, creativity, and adaptability in addressing diverse needs

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to high school students, primarily those with autism
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans aligned with IEP goals
  • Collaborate with school staff, related service providers, and families to support student progress
  • Monitor and document student growth, making adjustments as necessary
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning
  • Provide guidance and support with daily routines, including personal hygiene and toileting when necessary
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
