Private Music Instructor

Private Music Teacher: piano, voice, guitar, bass, ukulele, strings, brass, and woodwinds.

Ideal candidates have a solid foundation in technique specific to their instrument—such as proper posture, tone production, articulation, and musical phrasing—while also helping students build confidence, musicality, and a sense of personal expression. Instructors should be comfortable teaching across multiple styles where appropriate, integrating music reading, ear training, and functional skills like rhythm, theory, and improvisation. Role Description

This is a contract role for a Piano/Vocal Music Instructor and is located on-site in Hagerstown, MD. The instructor will be responsible for teaching private lessons, leading group sessions, and facilitating ensemble activities focused on piano and vocal skills. Responsibilities include designing lesson plans tailored to students' needs, promoting music theory and performance skills, and fostering a positive learning environment to inspire student growth and passion for music.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Piano performance and instruction
• Knowledge of Music Theory and Music Education
• Experience in leading Music Ensembles and vocal instruction
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Degree in Music or equivalent professional experience is preferred
• Ability to work effectively with students across varied ages and skill levels
• Previous teaching experience in music education is a plus
