About the role

Responsibilities

• Daily Reporting & High-Velocity Output:
• Report and write across formats—breaking news, original reporting, analysis, and enterprise stories.
• Move fast and think big: file quickly on time-sensitive stories while keeping an eye on longer trends.
• Draw on industry sources, regulatory filings, corporate disclosures, and your own original legwork.
• Newsletter Ownership & Industry Expertise:
• Own, curate, and write a weekly newsletter that serves as an authoritative read on what's happening across India's travel industry and why it matters.
• Stay deeply read-in on travel news globally and in India, across Skift and the competitive landscape.
• Collaboration & Event Coverage:
• Travel to cover industry events, Skift's own conferences, and participate in media appearances when the opportunity arises.
• Communicate openly, share information regularly with colleagues, and form strong, successful working relationships.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of professional experience in business reporting (B2B or business publishing experience preferred, but consumer media experience will be considered).
• A working familiarity with the travel industries in India, ideally backed by extensive contacts within the travel sector.
• Exceptional writing and copy-editing skills.
• Proficiency in WordPress, basic photo editing tools, Google Docs, and other remote working tools.
• Astute and ethical judgment in your everyday actions.
• A deep passion for the world of travel, paired with enthusiasm and dedication that drives how you collaborate with your teammates.
• Proficiency in additional languages.
