Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai for a Media Relations Officer. The Media Relations Officer will craft press releases, manage external communication, and foster relationships with media representatives. Responsibilities include developing and executing strategic communications plans, responding to media inquiries, coordinating press events, and ensuring consistent messaging aligned with the organization's values and goals. The role also involves monitoring media coverage and identifying opportunities for positive public engagement.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Press Releases and Media Relations, with experience in crafting impactful messaging for varied audiences
• Proficiency in Strategic Communications and Public Relations to support organizational goals and enhance visibility
• Exceptional Communication skills, both verbal and written, to build positive media relationships and ensure clarity in messaging
• Ability to multitask, handle time-sensitive requests efficiently, and work in a dynamic team environment
• Prior experience in nonprofit or social development sectors is an advantage
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
