Job description

Role Description The Part-time Staff Accountant with Unanet Experience will support day-to-day accounting operations for clients, with a focus on using Unanet to manage project accounting, time and expense entries, and financial reporting. Responsibilities include processing accounts payable and receivable, posting journal entries, reconciling bank and general ledger accounts, and assisting with month-end and year-end close. The role will also help prepare financial statements, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and client policies. This is a Hybrid role, requiring regular collaboration with the supervising accountant and occasional interaction with client representatives.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Unanet or similar project accounting/ERP systems, including setup, data entry, and reporting.
  • Strong general accounting skills, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and basic tax concepts, with the ability to maintain compliant and accurate financial records.
  • Competence in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
  • Effective organizational and time-management skills
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills for working with supervisors and client stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain reliability, discretion, and high ethical standards in handling financial information.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; relevant work experience with Unanet is highly beneficial.
