As Director of Recruiting, you’ll lead the team responsible for bringing exceptional talent to SeatGeek across a range of functions. You’ll oversee a group of tenured recruiters and a recruiting operations senior associate, set the strategy and standards for how we hire, and partner closely with People leadership and business stakeholders to ensure our recruiting engine is proactive, data-driven, and aligned to company goals. This is a high-impact role for a hands-on people leader who can balance strategic thinking with operational excellence. You’ll report to our Chief People Officer. This is a hybrid role based out of our NYC office.
What you'll do
- Lead and develop the recruiting team, providing clear goals, coaching, feedback, and career development for recruiters and recruiting operations
- Own recruiting strategy and operating rhythm across priority roles and business units, aligning hiring plans with headcount forecasts and company priorities
- Partner with senior leaders and hiring managers as a trusted advisor on hiring plans, role scoping, interview design, and tradeoffs between speed, quality, and cost
- Set and manage recruiting KPIs and SLAs (time-to-fill, pipeline health, onsite-to-offer, DEI representation, candidate experience, etc.), using data to diagnose issues and drive continuous improvement
- Elevate candidate experience and employer brand, ensuring every touchpoint reflects SeatGeek’s values and fan-first mindset
- Collaborate cross-functionally with People, Finance, and business leaders on workforce planning, headcount approvals, and quarterly/annual planning
- Own executive-level reporting and storytelling around recruiting performance, risks, and recommendations
- Champion DEI in hiring, partnering with leaders to build diverse slates, inclusive interview processes, and equitable decision-making
- Recruit for executive level searches and other key roles as needed
What you have
- 10+ years of professional recruiting experience, primarily within tech companies and high-growth startups, including 4+ years directly managing recruiters and/or recruiting teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Proven track record leading full-cycle recruiting for a mix of technical and non-technical roles; experience supporting senior and leadership searches
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and scale high-performing recruiting teams, including setting vision, goals, and operating norms
- Strong data fluency — comfortable building and interpreting recruiting dashboards, using data to influence stakeholders, and making tradeoffs grounded in KPIs and business impact
- Deep experience with structured hiring practices, including kickoff, calibrated scorecards, structured interviews, and consistent decision-making frameworks
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and push back when needed while maintaining strong partnerships
- Experience driving process improvement and change management across multiple teams or business units
- Familiarity with modern ATS and recruiting tools (e.g., Greenhouse or similar, Gem, Brighthire, Modernloop) and comfort experimenting with new tools to improve efficiency and candidate experience
- A builder’s mindset: comfortable operating in ambiguity, iterating quickly, and balancing long-term systems thinking with short-term execution
- Passion for SeatGeek’s mission and for creating a strong candidate and hiring manager experience
