The position will involve instruction of Level 1, 2, 3 and 4 Apprenticeship Training as well as Applied Certificate Electrical Training, as well as program development and maintenance of support material used by the program.
Use of technology is a requirement in the program for use in training as well as support to the program. Understanding the use of Office 365, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoints are some of the examples.

- Provide instruction to students enrolled in the Electrician program.
- Design and implement a student-centered learning environment using an outcome-based approach in either a face-to-face or online delivery mode.
- Prepare and deliver lessons, assignments, lectures and demonstrations using principles of adult learning.
- Develop new curriculum, training aids, and materials as needed.
- Use digital tools proficiently, including typical architectural software and general office applications.
- Be flexible and responsive to learner needs using varied instructional methods.
- Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
- Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students.
- Be responsive to accommodation of special learning needs, including equity groups and diverse learners.
- Where required, develop working relationships with appropriate external partners and employers, supporting students in working experience.
- Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.
- Mentor students related to educational opportunities, industry expectations, and career goals.
- Work co-operatively in an interdependent team environment.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Interprovincial Journeyperson Certificate in the Construction Electrician trade.
- Five years’ recent/relevant post-journeyperson experience as an Electrician.
- Effective instructional ability.

- Effective communication skills.
- Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, email, MS Office Suite software and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
- Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
