Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized experienced Legal Assistant to support our legal team with a variety of administrative and research tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of legal procedures. This role offers an opportunity to work in a professional environment, assisting attorneys with case preparation, document management, and client interactions.
Duties
- Proofread legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with formatting standards
- Assist Lawyer with preparation of legal documents.
- Manage and organize case files
- Assist with legal drafting, including correspondence, pleadings, and other documentation
- Billing, time entry, and invoicing clients.
- File documents electronically and physically in accordance with court requirements
- Maintain professional phone etiquette when communicating with clients, vendors, or court personnel
- Perform general clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and handling correspondence
- will be required to make deliveries/runs to bank, other law firms and realtors. Must have a class 5 driver's license and must have own transportation.
- Requirements
- Proven administrative experience, preferably within a legal setting
- Familiarity with Esilaw, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Site (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and professionally
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed
- Effective phone etiquette and communication skills
- Prior clerical experience including filing, document preparation, and client interaction is preferred
