Description
SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW(R&E)). This role requires an active Secret clearance and provides hybrid work flexibility, with on-site support required at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA.
Responsibilities
- Support systems engineering activities across requirements analysis, architecture development, and technical integration.
- Develop system-level documentation including requirements, interface definitions, technical specifications, and engineering plans.
- Evaluate system performance, identify risks or gaps, and recommend technical solutions.
Coordinate with stakeholders to capture mission needs and translate them into actionable system requirements.
- Assist in systems planning, trade studies, engineering reviews, and technical assessments.
Provide technical support for capability development, modernization efforts, and technology transition activities.
- Prepare engineering briefings, reports, and decision-support materials for senior leadership.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Active Secret clearance.
- US citizenship
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in systems engineering, system integration, or technical program support.
- Experience developing requirements, conducting analysis, or supporting systems architecture activities.
- Familiarity with systems engineering frameworks, methodologies, or lifecycle processes.
- Experience supporting technical or government programs.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Technical Skills:
- Experience with requirements management tools or modeling environments (e.g., DOORS, Cameo, SysML).
