SAIC is seeking a Business Process Analyst to support operational teams in a high-tempo mission environment. The ideal candidate will specialize in business process analysis, requirements elicitation, and the development of operational documentation in alignment with mission objectives. The selected candidate will play a critical role in process governance, workflow optimization, and interdepartmental coordination to drive efficient and effective operations.
This is a fast-paced, detail-oriented position that requires a strong grasp of process methodologies (SOPs, process maps, swim lanes, etc.), stakeholder engagement, and operational rhythm support. Exceptional organization, communication, and multi-tasking capabilities are essential for success.
Primary Responsibilities
- Document and maintain business processes using various methodologies and tools, including SOPs, process maps, swim lanes, and RACI matrices.
- Analyze existing workflows to identify bottlenecks, risks, and inefficiencies, providing recommendations for improvements and supporting implementation plans.
- Collaborate with mission and operations stakeholders to identify needs, problems, and desired end states; translate these into actionable requirements and workflow updates.
- Facilitate process governance through coordinating reviews, gathering inputs from process owners/subject matter experts (SMEs), and routing documentation for approval.
- Ensure proper publication, storage, and management of documents in secure, designated repositories while adhering to version control protocol and governance discipline.
- Prepare read-aheads, capture decisions, and manage action items for internal meetings and standing boards, ensuring workplace operational cadence is optimized.
- Support tool and workflow development initiatives by coordinating stakeholder inputs, documenting changes, supporting testing and demonstrations, and updating corresponding SOPs and user guidance.
- Maintain organized, discoverable records of process products, decisions, and associated deliverables, ensuring knowledge continuity and accessibility.
- Ensure adherence to all information handling and data protection regulations in process documentation and collaboration workflows.
- Promptly identify and escalate risks and issues to leadership, ensuring visibility through action tracking and governance mechanisms.
- Participate in regular interaction with mission and operations stakeholders, process owners, and SMEs to identify and address workflow requirements.
- Engage in direct collaboration with senior leadership for tasking, prioritization, and approval of process workflows and recommendations.
- Participate in close coordination with other internal teams and contractors to ensure effective alignment and integration of process products across the organization.
- Enforce proper handling of documentation, workflows, and data per enterprise compliance and information security standards.
Deliverables Include:
- Comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), checklists, process maps/swim lanes, and RACI matrices for relevant team operations.
- Detailed requirements packages, workflow improvement recommendations, and updated process guidance documentation.
- Leadership-ready read-aheads, decision logs, and action trackers for standing meetings or boards.
- Organized and discoverable records of process products, knowledge bases, and decision points for continuity and governance purposes.
Qualifications
- TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
- Minimum of 8 years in business process analysis, operations support, or program support.
- Strong experience creating professional process documentation, such as SOPs, RACI matrices, process maps, and workflow diagrams.
- Proficiency in collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including experience in facilitating working sessions and requirements elicitation.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and propose actionable process improvement recommendations.
- Proven ability to manage action trackers, prepare leadership-ready written products, and meet deadlines in fast-paced mission environments.
- Proficiency with collaboration and documentation platforms such as SharePoint, Confluence, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting operational teams in a mission-driven environment.
- Experience working on tool or workflow development cycles, including requirements gathering, stakeholder coordination, testing, demonstrations, and user guidance updates.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and facilitation of working sessions to address bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Knowledge of compliance/governance standards in information handling for secure mission environments.
- Certifications in process improvement, business analysis, or similar fields (e.g., Six Sigma, Business Process Management Professional (BPMP), Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP)).
