About Sahamati Foundation
Sahamati is a market-driven, non-profit industry alliance ushering in Open Finance in India through the Account Aggregator (AA) framework. Account Aggregators are the third building block of the India Stack, the country’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), after Aadhaar and Unified Payments Interface (UPI). AAs are consent managers (CMs) that enable secure and seamless data-sharing with explicit consumer consent, ensuring data control and privacy.
Role Overview
We are looking to hire a Research Analyst with 3–5 years of experience to join our Policy and Advocacy team. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong foundation in financial sector research, a passion for public policy, and an aptitude for crafting compelling, evidence-based narratives. You will contribute to high-impact policy research and advocacy initiatives influencing regulatory and institutional frameworks in India’s dynamic financial ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on financial sector topics such as digital finance, banking, NBFCs, fintech, payments, capital markets, and regulatory trends
- Author high-quality research reports, policy briefs, discussion papers, and industry notes for diverse stakeholders, including policymakers, regulators, financial institutions, and the media.
- Monitor changes in financial regulations, digital finance policy, and global best practices; evaluate their implications for Indian and international markets.
- Support responses to public consultations, policy recommendations, and advocacy documents in coordination with internal and external experts.
- Engage with financial institutions, regulators, industry bodies, and think tanks to gather insights and validate policy positions.
- Translate complex financial, legal, and regulatory information into accessible, action-oriented outputs.
- Support the development of advocacy strategies and evidence-based recommendations that align with Sahamati’s mission.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Public Policy, Business Administration, or related disciplines with a strong academic background and preferably from a Tier 1 institution.
- 3–5 years of experience in financial research, public policy, consulting, or strategy roles with a strong focus on the financial sector.
- Demonstrated ability to author research reports and policy publications.
- Strong understanding of the financial ecosystem—banks, NBFCs, fintechs, capital markets, payments, and regulatory institutions (e.g., RBI, SEBI, IRDAI).
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); ability to synthesize complex information for diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; experience with data analysis or visualization tools is an added advantage.
