We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Toronto, Ontario on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance while supporting various accounting functions. This position offers a dynamic and collaborative environment where attention to detail and expertise are essential.Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post month-end journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Assist in the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop lead schedules, including fixed asset continuity and accrued expense schedules.
- Maintain tax continuity schedules and support various tax reconciliations, including income tax, retail sales tax, harmonized sales tax, and insurance premium tax.
- Facilitate management reporting and contribute to regulatory filing processes.
- Perform variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on financial results.
- Support the year-end external audit by preparing necessary documentation and schedules.
