Our client, a respected independent school, is seeking an experienced Controller to join its Business Office team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, budget support, audit coordination, payroll processing, and internal controls. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys partnering across an organization and contributing to a mission-driven environment.ResponsibilitiesOversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger activity, accounts payable, and accounts receivableLead monthly and year-end close processes and ensure accurate, timely financial reportingPrepare financial statements, dashboards, reconciliations, and management reportsSupport budget management, including reporting, variance analysis, and communication with budget ownersCoordinate audit preparation and assist with compliance reporting, including annual filingsReconcile key accounts, including cash, investments, interfund balances, and fixed assetsRecommend and implement improvements to accounting procedures, systems, and internal controlsPartner with the CFO on special projects and ongoing financial initiatives
