Job Description

Architect, implement, and manage database platforms including RDS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server), DynamoDB, Aurora, and Redshift.
Enhance performance for large-scale transactional systems through query optimization, indexing strategies, and efficient schema design.
Establish and oversee Backup, Recovery, Archival, and Disaster Recovery processes for critical data assets.
Continuously monitor database health, uptime, and performance using OEM and other monitoring solutions.
Design scalable, maintainable database architectures that ensure consistency across multiple environments.
Create automation scripts and templates to streamline operations, minimize manual tasks, and accelerate deployments.
Define and enforce Data Archival and Retention policies to meet compliance and business requirements.
Implement robust security measures including IAM policies, KMS encryption, and auditing to maintain regulatory compliance.
Partner with development and DevOps teams to embed database services into CI/CD pipelines and application ecosystems.
Promote inner-source practices by maintaining a shared repository of scripts, configurations, and automation frameworks for cross-team use.
Support AppOps teams by delivering reusable modules for monitoring, alerting, and self-healing to scale operational support.
Diagnose and resolve database issues such as performance bottlenecks, connection pooling, and query inefficiencies.
Stay informed on the latest Cloud and On-Prem database technologies, trends, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Participate in on-call rotations to ensure availability and reliability of database infrastructure.
