About The Role

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor/Manager, the Warehouse Lead Hand will be responsible for driving day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth shipping and receiving, managing inventory, and mentoring our warehouse associates, all while upholding our strict safety standards.

This role is covered by a collective agreement (unionized position).

The Successful Applicant Will

  • Execute receiving, packing, shipping, and inventory movement functions in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform and assist with inventory counts including cycle counts and full inventory processes.
  • Engage and motivate the team to meet daily workload demands while maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Schedule and assign tasks and follow up on progress to ensure timely execution of duties.
  • Lead and participate in daily warehouse and cross-functional team meetings.
  • Provide clear communication regarding warehouse priorities, status updates, and KPI results to other departments.
  • Support and conduct training sessions to enhance the skills of warehouse associates.
  • Engage in continuous learning, with on-going training in Business Central and other relevant IT systems.
  • Work collaboratively with the Warehouse Supervisor/Manager and other departments to optimize workflows and resources.
  • Contribute recommendations for budget management, process improvements, and training needs.

We are seeking a candidate with the following experience and attributes:

  • Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent).
  • 1–3 years of relevant warehouse experience, with at least 1 year operating ERP systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer interaction skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team.
  • Demonstrated leadership in fast-paced environments and a keen eye for operational detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is essential.
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Central is considered an asset.
