Staff Nurse/ Senior Staff Nurse - PICU

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepares the PICU area for scheduled and emergency patients, ensuring all necessary equipment and materials are ready.
• Conducts continuous patient assessments and prioritizes care based on the severity of the condition.
• Ensures all necessary patient information and investigation reports are available for the doctors review.
• Assists with emergency interventions and possesses knowledge of various critical conditions.
• Assists clinicians with the administration of medication, monitoring vital signs, and similar clinical tasks when required.
• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of I.V. fluid and drug calculations.
• Coordinates the procurement of blood and blood products for transfusion and reports any transfusion reactions to the treating consultant, Infection Control (IC), and NS immediately.
• Completes the pre-operative checklist before transferring the patient to the operation theatre.
